Editor's Notes

by Walt Bitler

Serving as Editor of the Consumer Section Newsletter has become more involved and exciting than I anticipated.  Under the direction of Chair Lee Boon, communication with our membership is a priority.  To accomplish this ambitious program, our Section has created a bi-monthly E-zine with highlights of events and regulations that are germane to our profession, and sent it to each member via the email address that is on file.  We have engaged in a bi-monthly chat room  (entered through our website) for Section members to discuss topics relating to mediation in the field. And I am excited to report that in the near future, we will sponsor scheduled sessions with a sitting Judge, a professor who teaches cutting edge theories, a marketing professional and many more unique and interesting topics.     Please visit our web site at http://www.mediate.com/acrconsumer . If you sense that you might be like to participate in a chat room discussion as an author of a featured topic, please contact me at the address below.

I would like to thank our contributors in this issue of Consumer Section News. I encourage any member of our Section to submit content (and accompanying graphics) to the newsletter.  Additionally, I encourage submission of ideas for articles that are relevant to you.   I may be contacted at wabitl@aol.com or by phone at 802-366-1999 for discussion of issues or ideas.   With your help and your involvement, the Consumer Section will enjoy an exciting and productive year.
